Capstone 2025

Students partnered with Jeremy Molt, Youth Coordinator for Tribal Educational Programs and facilitator for the Trout in the Classroom Program. Teachers implementing this program were interested in better understanding by the chemistry and microbiology of the tanks so that more effective trout rearing can be accomplished in their classrooms. The Trout in the Classroom Program allows students to gain a first-hand understanding of ecosystem balance, from the closed tank ecosystem to the larger watershed ecosystem into which the trout are eventually released.
Kimberly Carter, Megan Cornwall, and Aileen McGahuey focused on the impact of aquatic plants and carbonate substrates on dissolved oxygen, nitrogen and water hardness.
